April 26th, 2007

I’ve been having trouble getting this Wordpress to do what I want so I’m changing my blog address and format. I will now be at

www.bricejones.blogspot.com

Check it out — hopefully I can keep it a little more updated.

Layla Jane

March 17th, 2007

We’re only a couple weeks away from the due date of our little girl. March 29th is the magic day, but Sarah thinks it’s going to be sooner. Very big things happening around here.

Header Image

March 16th, 2007

I have to comment on the header image I’ve chosen for my site. I was introduced to a guy by the name of Jason Smith by my teammate Alex Candelario a few years back now. Jason is part owner of French Broad Brewery in Asheville, North Carolina. He was nice enough to host Alex and I in between the Athens Twilight and Roswell Criteriums. Jason is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and I appreciate the time he took out of his busy schedule to entertain Alex and I.

Jason ran us down to French Broad Brewery and explained their whole operation. The unique thing about this brewery is that they do things as non-traditional as possible. For one, they run a large portion of their operation on spent veggie oil. For two, they host local bands at least once a week to entertain their biggest fans. We caught a show, which was really good, but it’s been so long ago that I don’t remember the name of the artist.

Point being — I’ve chosen a photo I took of Jason’s Chevy Blazer (diesel version designed for the army) that runs on veggie oil as my header image for my entire site. How cool is this vehicle? How cool is it that someone would search out this vehicle on E-bay just so they could reduce their carbon foot-print? This is Jason in a nutshell!

There are so many experiences that are just forgotten — so many inconsequential time periods than one wishes to forget. Our time with Jason, in Ashville, was not one of those time periods. It was one of those time periods that makes you step back and examine your own life and what your doing as an individual — can I do better?

I offer Jason a big thanks for the perspective he instilled! Memories like these are the ones you hold on to. Races come and go, but it’s the people you meet along the way that change your life forever!

New site structure coming soon!

March 15th, 2007

I’m in the process of changing up my site structure. From now on it will be strictly word press format, which should be easier to manage. I’ll be adding photo galleries and changing the theme so stay tuned.
